How Long Does A Weed High Last?

The high that you get from cannabis can last as long as a couple of hours. It can also last as many as 10 hours. This however depends on a wide range of factors such as the amount of weed that you have consumed, the amount of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) it contains, how much you weigh and the percentage of fat in your body, your metabolism rate, if you have eaten or not, and your tolerance levels for such substances. The thing with cannabis is that it may contain around 113 chemical compounds that are referred to as cannabinoids. Delta-9 THC happens to be one of these and it is supposed to make you high.

The amount of time it takes to kick in

There are three methods of consuming cannabis – vaping or smoking, dabbing, and eating. So, the method that you choose for such work determines the amount of time it takes for the high to kick in. Right now, you may be worried about the time of weed delivery. However, this is something that you must keep in mind. In the case of vaping or smoking you might feel the effects within 2 to 10 minutes. In the case of edibles, it may take anywhere between 30 and 60 minutes for the effects to show.

Type of weed

As you would learn at the cannabis dispensary in your neighborhood, the type of high that you get from any weed depends on its CBD (cannabidiol) and THC content. Weed is normally stronger when you consume it in the form of hashish or sinsemilla as opposed to some other strains and this is purely because they have higher levels of THC. This is the reason why they have a higher likelihood of creating highs that would last longer.

Metabolism

This is something that you would learn at the local cannabis store in your area as well. If you have a high metabolic rate your body will process the cannabis faster and it would reach your bloodstream quicker as well. However, the effect will most likely not last as long as may otherwise have been the case.

Eating

Some foods have chemicals that could extend a high and strengthen it as well. As per anecdote-based reports, mangoes may have this effect as well.

Method of ingestion

We have already shed light on the effect of your method of cannabis ingestion in the context of the time that it takes for the high to kick in. This also determines the amount of time for which the high stays. In the case of both smoking/vaping and dabbing the effect can stay anywhere between one and three hours. In the case of edibles, this can go up to anywhere between 2 and 10 hours. It is important to know the marijuana benefits before you start consuming the same.
